SAFEMED APPOINTS RICHARD NOFFSINGER AS CEO

San Diego, CAJanuary 7, 2008 SafeMed, developer of a revolutionary clinical decision intelligence (CDI) system that provides personalized health analysis to both caregivers and patients in real-time, announced today the appointment of Richard Noffsinger as chief executive officer. Noffsinger will succeed founder Ahmed Ghouri, M.D., who will become the company’s chief medical officer and will continue to serve on SafeMed’s Board of Directors. Noffsinger brings 20 years of information technology (IT) and healthcare experience to SafeMed. His appointment became effective on December 10, 2007.

Noffsinger previously served as president and chief operating officer of Amicore, Inc., a healthcare information technology company. Amicore was jointly founded by Microsoft, IBM, and Pfizer to serve physicians and clinical management by automating their practice and connecting them to patients, hospitals, payers, labs and pharmacies. Previously, Noffsinger served as group industry manager, worldwide healthcare market for the Microsoft Corporation, where he led the company’s business development team in healthcare. While he was at Microsoft, he directed the healthcare group’s revenue growth through acquisitions and strategic distribution partnerships with leading IT solution providers, including the joint launch of Amicore.

This appointment further strengthens the management team as the company expands their sales and marketing activity.” Hicks Holdings, a Dallas-based, family-owned private investment enterprise, acquired a 40 percent stake in SafeMed in June 2007.
